Fat Cats

On Friday we were all getting a little bit of cabin fever so we took Jace to Fat Cats. He had SUCH a blast! He would have been fine if I didn't spend a single dime on him, he just loved seeing all of the people and the fun arcade machines. We contemplated going bowling, but Jace was more entertained around the arcades. It's nice to have a place to go during the colder weather that's entertaining. It's also nice that he's still to small to want to spend all of my money at the arcade! We're definitely ready for some nice weather though....and for all the snow to melt. Spring can't come fast enough...

Here's Jace testing out his driving skills. He is seriously all boy! He sits up on the seat and automatically starts cruising. If you notice, he was too excited that we had a hard time even getting his coat off!

Here is Jace on the Ferris Wheel. He said "Weeee" the whole time! It was hard to convince him to look at the camera...I probably looked like an idiot making funny faces and saying his name in different voices to get his attention. I guess he finally looked, so it was worth it, right?

Jace walked by the ski ball and fell in love instantly. He LOVES balls! He wanted to take the balls and throw them though...but we showed him how to play. He thought it was easier to just take the ball and drop it in instead of rolling it up the slope. Too bad his arms weren't a little longer and so he could get us some real points!!!

Here's Wes juggling both kids...I'm impressed! We had a fun night!

Tag...I'm it!!!

Well, I've been tagged by my friend Kelly, and this time I get to answer some fun questions about my hubby! It actually has been quite fun, thanks for tagging me!

All about my DARLING Hubby!!

What is his full name? Trevor Wayne Zezula
How long have we been married? 5 years this May (Wow, I can't believe it's really been that long!!
How long did we date? Well, this is kind of a funny question, because Trevor and I really didn't "date" much because of the whole long distance thing. We pretty much just got engaged (scary, I know). But he got off his mission in August and we were engaged in December...so 4 months...does that count?
How old are you? 27
Who eats more? For the most part Trevor does....unless it's something sweet, and then I beat him by a landslide!
Who said I love you first? Trevor. In fact, he flew here from Canada so that he could tell me in person! (How romantic we used to be...:o) )
Who sings better? Well, I was a choir singer through junior high/high school, so I can read music and that, but Trevor has a nice voice as well...
Who is smarter? I used to think that I was...at least at book smarts (is that rude?) but Trevor's really impressing me lately! I think it comes down to the fact that I try harder than he does in school. When it comes to basic knowledge and common sense type of things he wins for sure.
Whose temper is worse? Mine unfortunately. I have the terrible tendency to speak before I think sometimes.
Who does the laundry? Definitely me. I don't think that Trevor has done a load of laundry since we've been married. (And I'm not sure how much laundry he did at home for that matter!)
Who does the dishes? It's pretty even, although Trevor doesn't seem to know how to put his dirty dishes in the dishwasher after he uses them! I guess the truth is is that the dishwasher does most of the dish washing :o).
Who mows the lawn? Trevor, and he takes great pride in it as well. I, embarrassingly enough, don't know how to operate a lawn mower.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Me
Who pays the bills? Me. We have most of our stuff on automatic withdrawl, so it's not too tough!
Who cooks dinner? Trev works and goes to school so late that I don't usually make dinner during the week. He's a much better cook than I am, so I'd have to say that he probably cooks more. I'm working on it though!
Who is taller? Trevor
Who drives when together? Trevor all the way. I almost NEVER drive when we're together (which is very nice!).
Who is more stubborn? It depends on the situation...but we can both be pretty stubborn on certain issues.
Who's parents do you see the most? Mine for sure, but that's just because Trev's live so far away!
Who kissed who first? Trev kissed me...
Who proposed? Trevor...and it was so romantic!
Who has more friends? Probably Trevor. He's more outgoing than I am...and he goes to work and school....that also helps. I seem to keep in better touch with my friends though...
Who has more siblings? Trevor has 3 siblings and I have 4.
Who wears the pants? A lot of people think I do, but really I think we're pretty evenly matched.

Well, I guess I'm going to have to tag Shelly Taylor, Jaime Owens, and Jessica Harwood!!!

Jace and Jake

Jace has a little friend named Jake. Jake is 4 months older than Jace but they're pretty much the same size. Jen (Jake's mom) and I have been hanging out since they were babies and it's great because now they are starting to interact more with each other (even if it is trying to steal one another's toy!). It's fun to watch him play with other kids! We love getting together with Jake and Jen. It has certainly made our winter more entertaining!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's is such a fun holiday! It's nice to have an excuse to do something with the person you love! Trev and I were able to go to a dinner and movie on Wednesday night (thank you SO much Tara and Wes for watching the kiddos) and it was SO nice to have an excuse to go on a date. As for the actual Valentine's Day, I didn't get to see Trevor until almost 10:00 pm, but he was working and studying, so what do you do! We had a fun day anyway. I had a playgroup at my house earlier in the day and we let the kids decorate cookies.

Jace thought it was funner to put the frosting in his hair on and his neck!

Every Valentine's Day I make Trevor a Black Forest cake (his favorite) even if he doesn't get home until 10:00 pm!

Jace vs. Brooklyn

Here are pictures of Jace and Brooklyn both at 4 months old. It's amazing to see the differences between them. You have to click to make the picture bigger to see the full affect.

Here are their stats at 4 months.

Jace
Weight 15 lbs 14 oz (75th percentile)
Length: 25 ½ inches (94th percentile)
Head: 44 cm (95th percentile)

Brooklyn
Weight: 11 lbs. 4 oz. (10th percentile)
Length: 25 inches (75th percentile)
Head: 42 cm (75th percentile)

So they are very similar in everything except weight! It's amazing to look at the pictures of Jace taken at 4 months compared to Brooklyn. He was such a chunk! I was reading a journal of what Jace was like at 4 months, and he had already grown out of some of his 3-6 month clothes where Brooklyn is still wearing mostly 0-3 month clothes It's fun to have a smaller baby this time around but sometimes I miss those chubby legs :o).

Hired Help

Jace loves to vacuum. Any time we try to vacuum, he doesn't want to sit and watch and he especially doesn't want to help. He wants to do all by himself. He is becoming quite independent! I hope he doesn't lose his desire to clean as he gets older! (As a side note, I did do Jace's hair today, but he insists on plastering it down everytime I try and do it, again, he wants to be very independent, and doesn't want help!)

Cute or Cheesy?

Brooklyn and I have matching sweatshirts. I was so excited when she finally (some what) fit into hers. I don't know if it's cute or cheesy to have matching clothes. I certainly don't do it all the time, but I think it's kind of fun! I actually have Jace and Brooklyn matching little outfits (Jace's is blue, Brooklyn's is pink) I'm just waiting until she grows into it. Is it dumb to dress my kids the same?

Bath Time

Jace loves taking baths! It's nice because he gets so bored around the house, and since we don't have a lot of opportunities to go outside (since it's been so stinkin' cold), baths are a nice outlet and something new. We usually take at least one bath per day, depending on the day even two! He loves to play with his toys, and fill up and sort of cup and bottle (and tries to dump it outside the bath, we're still trying teach the rules on bath etiquette). He splashes and he stands up, and he always wants the water running.

He also is doing well with some of sign language we've taught him. Here he is saying more, and the last picture he is saying please. (Yes, he is still playing in the bath even though all of the water is drained. He's saying "please" to stay in the tub.)always

Brooklyn on the other hand, does not share the same excitement for baths! Luckily she's a baby and doesn't spit up much and doesn't get too dirty so I only bathe her like once a week. She does have quite the cute bum though :o).
