Look-alike Meter

What do you think? I did the "Look-alike Meter" and here are the results. I think it's pretty accurate with Jace. We get so many people say that he looks just like me, and so many people say he looks just like Trev...which probably means he looks like both of us!

I must confess with Brooklyn though, the first time I tried doing it with different pictures (that weren't the greatest) and it said she looked 12% more like Trevor, so she's probably a good mix too although I'm not quite sure. She doesn't look anything like Jace, maybe the same nose, but that's about it. She's definitely got Trev's eye/hair color (so far) but the rest of her I don't know about. My family thinks she looks like me. (But I don't know if it's because she's so dang cute, they want to have some credit for it :o) ) and most of Trev's family haven't seen her in person...

Fun in the Snow

Jace absolutely loves it outside. Even though it's been below freezing, and he refuses to wear his mittens, he jumps at any opportunity to go outside. This is quite difficult with a small baby at home. It's nice when Trev comes home and has things to do outside, because I put on Jace's snow suit and out they go! Trevor wanted to scrape off some snow/ice from the driveway yesterday (the man is OBSESSED with keeping the driveway completely snow-free. In fact, he'll even park the garbage cans on our curb so that the plow doesn't plow snow into the driveway...but that's a whole other story) and it was so nice to let Jace get some fresh air and play in the snow. I guess he actually doesn't play in the snow, we have so much snow now that it's too deep for him. He more or less plays on the driveway. It's nice that his snow suit is so puffy too...because when he slips and falls it makes for a cushy landing. It's hard to get Jace to sit still to take any pictures when he's outside, because he's go go go.

Brooklyn and I decided to join the boys outside, but only lasted a few minutes. She doesn't seem to mind the cold temperatures but I sure do!

Here's Brooklyn and her Daddy. She really is such a sweet girl...and smiles at anyone who comes her way...

Bargain Shopper

My sister Shelly is the best bargain shopper in the world. She is calls all the time to say that she just bought 75 items at the grocery store and only spent $7 or something like that. And that's not an exaggeration. She's gotten me half of my food storage, I swear and won't ever let me pay her because she gets such good deals. She uses coupons from the newspaper and online and has this site she goes to (www.pinchingyourpennies.com) that gives updates on the latest sales. Last week I went to her house for a few days and we did some major bargain shopping. First we went to Kohls. They had tons of clothes on sale for 75% off, and were an additional 50%off of the sale price. I had to stock up on some clothes for next winter for both of the babes. (In fact, I even bought stuff Brooklyn won't be able to wear for several years, but when you are spending $1.80 on pants, you just can't pass up that good of a deal). Then the next day we went to Old Navy's sale which was 50% off of all their sale prices. Cha ching!!! I got so many clothes!!! (This picture really doesn't do justice of how many clothes I actually got). We had to wait in line for like 45 minutes (with 3 kids mind you). At one point we thought we lost Jace, and Kylee ended up getting a bloody nose because the cart fell on her. But it was all worth it in the end! Thanks for sharing all of you bargain shopping secrets with me Shel!!

Let it Snow

Last week South Ogden got DUMPED on with snow! My sister had her car parked in the driveway. Can you see it? I think when the numbers were tallied at the end of the day, we ended up getting 18 inches of snow in one day! Yikes! Needless to say, Tara ended up staying another night instead of braving the roads.

Jace LOVED playing in the snow! As I shoveled, he wanted to help. Instead of a shovel though, he used our marshmallo roasting sticks. What a funny guy!

I swear when you're a kid you either don't get cold as easily, or you just don't care. I was freezing outside, but Jace would have played out there all day. In fact, he was less than thrilled when it was time to go inside.

Bragging Rights

Okay, so I have no bragging rights to this, but my sister doesn't have a blog to brag about it so I will! Tara and Wes have been building the most BEAUTIFUL house in Park City for about a year and it's finally done! They have put much sweat, blood and tears into this and it has really paid off. I have attached some pictures but if you go to the virtual tour (listed at the bottom) you can see much more. We got to stay up there for New Years and it was so much fun! They have like 10 different thermostats, so every room has it's own climate control. They also have radiant heating so your tootsies never get cold. The views are unmatched and you can see 3 different ski resorts from their balcony (maybe more...I forget..). Anyway, it's currently listed, so if you know anyone in the market for a 2 million dollar plus home....send them this way!

This picture is of the front of the house at sunset. You can't see the beautifully stained concrete or all of the landscaping, but it still is an impressive picture.

This picture is of the back of the house. I love the big rock pillars. Under the balcony is a big hot tub and fire pit.

This is the great room. They did such an amazing job with the fireplace! It can be both gas powered and wood burning. Their house is fully furnished as well, and man would I love to have such nice furniture! You can get an idea of how nice the view is but it's something you just can't capture in a picture.

This is a picture of the kitchen but it doesn't really do it justice! There are two Wolf ranges and ovens, two dishwashers, two sinks, and a pot filler over the stove. The pantry has a motion sensor and automatically turns on if you go in the pantry. Of course all of the appliances are covered with beautiful cabinetry.

Happy Holidays (A little late...)

So Christmas has come and gone....New Years has come and gone....and I haven't really posted anything! Sorry! My camera battery was dead Christmas morning (of all the luck...) so I had to take pictures with my parent's & sister's cameras...problem is I need to get the pictures from them. Anyway, I will be posting them soon....hopefully some time before next Christmas :o).

This is our Christmas card for 2007, sorry most of you got these late (and yes, there are some I haven't even mailed....I had to reorder some and blah blah blah so it's taken awhile). I must thank Tara for getting this together. I'm not sure what we'd do without her! I hope you all had a safe and fun Christmas and New Years. Ours was fun while it lasted, but went by too fast! We missed Trev's side of the family this year....but hopefully we'll get to see them next year for Christmas...

Pictures

I got the kids pictures taken a few weeks ago and what a MESS!! It's hard enough to get one baby to smile or sit still (who am I kidding, even if they looked at the camera that would be nice!) let alone TWO babies! Yikes! We set an appointment at Kiddie Kandids right after Jace's nap so he'd be happy. We got to the mall a little early so I could feed Brooklyn right before too....so she'd be happy. Sounds like a good plan, right? Well, it didn't work out so nice. Stupid people...okay maybe that's harsh (although if you were there you'd probably think I'm a saint for not using any profanities) anyway, they ended up letting several people ahead of us...and when it was time to take our pictures, we get both babies ready and the girls says "whoops, it looks like you guys aren't in the system yet. Just have them stay like that for two minutes and I'll be right back." What? Baby + Baby does not equal sitting in a pose for two minutes. It was all down hill from there. Jace didn't want to look at Brooklyn, kiss Brooklyn, or even be in the same proximity to her. Holding her was clearly out of the question. After two hours, yes TWO HOURS, we decided to call it quits and come back the next day. Although it wasn't much better the next day, we did get some SUPER cute pictures! I'm just lucky Tara was there to help me...

This is the ONLY decent picture of the two of them together. Sure they're not in a sweet pose looking at eachother, or Jace isn't kissing her. But we were VERY lucky to get them within 2 feet of eachother without causing some drama...

We were lucky to get this picture too, because Brooklyn was not too thrilled after having her clothes changed....plus she was getting a little sleepy... I love her blessing dress. She looks like an angel!

What a sweetheart! I just want to kiss those little lips every time I look at this picture!

That's the smile I wake up to every morning. Am I lucky or what?

What a handsome boy! He looks so grown up in his suit and tie. Before I know it he'll be going on a mission!

When Trev saw this picture he asked how we got Jace to hold the pose. Funny thing is, the lady just put the ladder there and Jace just posed on his own!

What a smile!

So although it was a painful experience for all, I got some super cute pictures!
